Trevor Thomas is the world’s only blind professional long distance hiker. In 2008, he became the first blind person in history to successfully complete a solo, unassisted thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. He’s since completed the Pacific Crest Trail and become the first blind person to summit Mt. Whitney to name a few feats. In 2012, he met his guide dog, Tennille, and together they have trekked nearly 6,000 miles on the America’s lesser known trails without a human guide—relying instead on their close bond to navigate some of the country’s most challenging terrain.
